Connecting professionals for 50 years

Per Spindler, DIA President

DIA President

Dear %%First%% %%Last%%,

"DIA was founded in 1964 as the Drug Information Association in response to the devastation of thalidomide, a sedative used to treat morning sickness in pregnant women that was causing birth defects in Europe, Canada and other countries. Over the past 50 years, DIA has evolved into a highly respected organisation that provides a global, neutral forum for all stakeholders involved in medical products development."

DIA supports its members in making connections and advancing their careers through networking and professional education opportunities, such as conferences and workshops, training courses and online offerings, and provides a platform for knowledge exchange between professionals of a multitude of disciplines.

Improving Efficiency within the Current Regulatory System: Results of the Escher project

The European medicines regulatory system is well developed and has achieved many successes in bringing medicinal products to the market to the benefit of patients and their health. Joint DIA/ICOS Cardio-Oncology Conference

Important drugs that may be active on cancerous tissues are increasingly likely to have significant collateral effects on cardiac tissues. Understanding the underlying mechanisms and how to detect these problems early and manage them effectively can allow a critical drug for cancer efficacy to continue to develop as a clinical therapy.

This conference aims to foster better collaboration between the different parties to ensure optimum outcome for the patient.
