The "Indispensable Associate Initiative: Professional Skills" workshop helps associates gain the key business and communication skills they need to lead a successful practice and be healthier, savvier, and more fulfilled in their veterinary careers.

Designed to meet the specific needs of 2013-2017 graduates, this one-day program is presented at no cost based on an educational grant from Zoetis.

  • Achieve personal and professional fulfillment in a challenging industry

Speakers:

Dan Brod, DVM, is the current vice president of strategic opportunities for Companion Animal Practices North America (CAPNA) and chief executive officer of Deer Creek Animal Hospital in Littleton, Colorado. For the past 10 years, Brod has helped bring vendor opportunities to more than 800 Veterinary Management Group (VMG) hospitals as a member of the Veterinary Study Groups (VSG) Strategic Opportunities Committee. He has spent the past five years developing leadership programs for first-time leads and managers in the veterinary hospital.

Karlene Belyea, MBA, is the chief executive officer of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA). She is a nationally known speaker who presents to a wide variety of groups on improving workplace communication. As a certified Everything DiSC® Trainer, she presents sessions on behavioral styles, generational differences, body language, leadership and influence, creating happy work teams, work life balance, and brain training (neuroscience).
