Spectroscopy’s SpecAcademy Introduces its new course, The Fundamentals of UV-visible Spectroscopy

This course describes the basic theory of UV-visible spectroscopy, differences between instrument types, tips to help you make qualitative and quantitative measurements correctly, and example applications.

By taking this course, you will:

  • Understand why molecules absorb UV-visible light and how the spectrum changes with molecular structure
  • Know the advantages and disadvantages of different instrument types
  • Learn how to select and use sample cells correctly
  • Understand the possible causes of poor-quality measurements and deviations from Beer's Law
  • Appreciate how to improve selectivity in quantitative applications
  • Understand how spectroscopic instruments are calibrated and qualified

Training sessions begin on Wednesday, June 4, 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM EDT. The fee for this course and all instructional course materials, with on Demand Access to each of the four training sessions is $349.
